Nervous Jitters: American Idol Auditions

Aug. 3 is approaching quickly and the jitters are about to kick in. Now that I’ve told y’all my plan, I have to follow through with it, right? (Oh my gosh.. what am I  getting myself into?!?!)

Thanks so much for weighing in on Facebook, Twitter, and this blog with your song choices! I’m overwhelmed by your response and I’m so grateful that you all are encouraging me to follow this dream. I’m going to need all the encouragement that I can get!

So, another drumroll please. The songs I’ll use in my American Idol audition are:

  • “Terrified” by Kara DioGuardi and Jason Reeves (also performed by Katherine McPhee)
  • “Love Song” by Sara Bareillis
  • “Walking in Memphis” by Marc Cohn
  • Alternate: “In Your Eyes” by Peter Gabriel

I decided to take it mellow for these auditions and I hope it pays off.  My favorite performance of “Terrified” is by Kara and Jason, and I’ve posted it below just for you. (The song starts at 1:48).
